FAQs

It can feel disheartening to not see visible progress after a week or two. In this group you’ll learn how to lift for Gainz in muscle tone, fat loss, shape, symmetry, strength, mobility and overall fitness so it won’t be long until you get compliments, feel your clothes getting looser and notice changes in strength & performance. This is a results-driven group.

We’ll coach you what to do and how to do it so you no longer feel overwhelmed by the the labyrinth of machines and seemingly endless exercise options. Once you get our structured gym programme you will sky rocket your progress, learn new skills and gain new levels of confidence.

Our schedule puts exercise on your calendar so you commit to working out on specific days so soon enough, those gym sessions will feel like a habit and you won’t be sitting there waiting for
motivation to strike. You’ll also have other people to think about – and if you start slacking then you’re accountable to them as well as just yourself and your personal trainer which helps with
exercise adherence.

Maximise Gainz training programmes are designed by Fit Pro Gregg Winfield-Jowitt and delivered by our incredible coaches Jemma and Faye. They’ll get to know your fitness level or experience with and will gladly modify the movements so or let you know good times to ‘rest and observe’ to catch your breath so you don’t feel like you have keep up.

Bottom line: it’s ok to not be the strongest, fittest person in the gym. We welcome all abilities to this group and all that matters is that you want to learn and have a desire to progress. Jemma and Faye have the experience, creativity and astuteness to adapt exercises, adjust the weight and modify the total number of exercises or sets for each exercise in your workout as necessary. Likewise they’ll encourage more experienced lifters to challenge their perception of what is
possible.

Let’s face it, working out with others is always going to be more fun than working out on your own! Our low number of 6-12 creates an exciting and intimate atmosphere. You are more motivated to push yourself harder in your training with others around you. If the other people training with you are getting on with their workout it will drive you to do the same. It’s fantastic to share your workout experience with other people, it helps you build a connection because you are going through the process together. You don’t feel like you’re going on your journey alone, and you have other people to push you through. This camaraderie will help people socialise even beyond the confines of a gym.

Training sessions are approximately one hour long.

You have access to all the sessions on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Most often members do three sessions per week, one session Monday, one session on Wednesday and one session on Friday at either 6:00am, 9.15am or 6pm (5.30pm Friday) on each respective day. You can do more than one session per day.

£5.80 per session if you did all 12 PT session in one month. Total cost is therefore £69.50 per month.  

Maximize Gainz Group PT is a Flex Membership so that means it is no-contract monthly rolling. You can cancel at any time a month and free your space to someone else.

Designed for children aged 8-12 years who would benefit from... more strength, increased athleticism, enhanced mobility, better body composition, gym knowledge and confidence, greater speed, acceleration & balance, cardio endurance, improved mental health. This small group PT session is designed and delivered by our fitness professionals to develop the motor control required to perform key fundamental movement patterns such as squatting, lunging, pressing, pulling, rotating and hip hinging among other things.

Take 30 minutes out of your day to crush the midday gainz. Expect to burn 500+ calories per session as you hone in on specific muscles in this press down on the pedal workout. Designed by our amazing PT Jemma Jowitt, these workouts help improve your muscle tone, strength, conditioning and endurance.

Boxercise is an interval training session typically involving hitting focus pads but no class involves hitting an opponent. It differs from boxing in that boxing is a competitive sport whereas Boxercise includes aspects of boxing training but not sparring or competitive bouts. It is a fun, challenging and safe workout which is great for stress busting, accessible to all ages and fitness levels.

Our 45 min interval-based workout consists of a series of short bursts of both cardio and resistance training. If you're wanting to achieve total body conditioning whilst also improving mobility, strength and cardio endurance then this class is your ticket.

This class is usually around 30 minutes long and is designed to tone your legs, bum and abs, help you lose weight, get fitter, and more athletic. Training your core and lower body is a great way to improve muscle tone and maintain good balance and stability.

HIIT… A metabolic workout featuring bodyweight and weight-based exercises that will blast all your major muscle groups, ramp up your metabolism so your body keeps on burning calories long after you’re done. You'll be working in bursts of high-intensity strength and cardio exercises followed by brief periods of recovery.

I got into fitness once I had left school where from day one, I fell in love with it and how it made me feel, I really enjoyed strength and functional fitness training which in turn lead me down the path of CrossFit which I’ve been doing for the past three years. My passion for CrossFit has grown so much that I have even participate and will continue to participate in competitions, these have pushed me out of my comfort zone but has also made me realise that being out of our comfort zone is and can be a good thing. I have worked in a gym environment for the past two years where I have had experience running classes and working with both men and women of all ages improve their general fitness and build strength. I’m very excited to be working in this family run business to help create a community of fitness enthusiasts.

Approach

I like to incorporate functional fitness, strength and conditioning, CrossFit, and mobility styles of training into my one-to-one sessions depending on the clients’ preferences and goals. My main aim is to give people a routine that can be sustained, get people excited about training, get them motivated to push themselves and to make exercise enjoyable. I’m all about keeping our bodies moving well, feeling good and being as strong as possible for as long as possible while making the process fun. As a personal trainer I ensure I listen to my client’s needs and wants, create a clear plan and solid foundation for myself and the clients to work from while allowing the session to be their time to not think, destress, be supported, work hard, and feel awesome.

Experience

I went through my football career with a lot of injuries which then swerved me in the direction of physiotherapy and learning more about how muscles and bones work when I was of a very young age. I became a qualified self-employed PT just before lockdown and ran online classes/1-1’s over Zoom which then turned into 1-1 PTs in the gym. Since recently moving to Leeds I have been lucky enough to find this great gym that I cant wait to be a part of.

I lead Maximize Gainz Group Personal Training at Gainz fit our specialized training system to help people lift the right way for muscle tone, fat loss, shape and strength. You’ll see me leading a bunch of classes including Gianz Burn and Gainz Circuit. I’m a certified Boogie Bounce instructor so be sure to book in and let me bounce your butt to fit. I also help busy women to lose 10, 20 and up to 30lbs of body fat whilst gaining lean muscle in 90 days. I’m a mum of four amazing children so I know all about the challenges that women face in the pursuit of a healthy body and mind in such a busy world. All being well I’ll have the opportunity to coach the tools and truths that worked for me.

Approach

I initially believed lifting was mostly for strong men – women hit the cardio and men drop into the weights area. My primitive years in the gym was therefore in fitness classes and I’d avoid the weights room, mainly due to a lack of know-how and confidence. The game-changer for creating a stronger, leaner, more toned figure is strength training with barbells, weight plates, dumbbells and weight stacks, it is not cardio or conditioning. My approach is to get you strength training as you layer in other forms of exercise. We’ll always nourish our mindset but make no mistake we’re in the gym for challenge and struggle because that’s what it takes to transform. Ladies, if you have an ‘ideal’ you must take action today, it’s your duty to become a strong and powerful female. I know, it can be anxiety provoking when that internal voice whispers ‘you need to make a change’ and it keeps getting louder.
